Stabilized R-Lipoic Acid Supreme™ features a
highly bioavailable form of R-lipoic acid (RLA),
Bio-Enhanced® RLA.
RLA is the more biologically active form of lipoic acid and
is the form found in nature. It supports antioxidant status
in the body, promotes a healthy inflammatory response
and supports healthy blood sugar metabolism.* Stabilized
R-Lipoic Acid Supreme™ also contains the amino acid
taurine to further support antioxidant status and promote
healthy blood sugar metabolism.*
In the body, lipoic acid functions as a beneficial compound
that helps neutralize free radicals and may help maintain
healthy antioxidant status in the body.* It also supports the
repletion of additional antioxidants, including glutathione
and vitamins A and C. The more common supplemental
form of lipoic acid is alpha-lipoic acid (ALA). Studies have
demonstrated the potential for the RLA form alone to be
more effective than ALA. Together, lipoic acid and taurine
support antioxidant status and healthy blood sugar
metabolism by neutralizing free radicals and reducing their
