Acetyl L-Carnitine consists of L-carnitine and an acetyl group. It is more stable than L-carnitine, has a higher bioavailability and can readily cross the blood-brain barrier. Acetyl L-carnitine is not only involved in fat metabolism and cellular energy production, but also promotes the presence of neurotransmitters in the brain. Therefore, it is mainly used to optimize brain functions and is used in the treatment of prophylaxis to optimize disorders and brain performance.
