provides an extensive blend of vital substances that have been developed with eye health in mind. The eye is characterized by a pronounced metabolic activity and a resulting high energy requirement. Accordingly, the need for antioxidants to fight free radicals is also high. Therefore, special attention has been paid to protecting against oxidative stress and promoting energy production when compiling OcuDyne II.
Of particular importance for vision are the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, two antioxidants that are highly concentrated in the macula ─ also known as the yellow spot ─ the site of sharpest vision in the retina. Lutein and zeaxanthin act as natural antioxidants there, helping to protect against the harmful effects of high-energy blue and ultraviolet radiation. In addition, according to research, carotenoids play an important role in the prevention of age-related deterioration of vision and conditions such as cataracts and AMD (age-related macular degeneration).
Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) promotes energy metabolism, selected amino acids such as taurine, N-acetylic acid and L-glutamic acid provide the necessary protein building blocks.
