Description
What is Oregano Oil?
Oregano Oil (Oregano Oil) contains the concentrated, essential oil of Origanum vulgare in a base of rice bran and olive oil. This essential oil contains the active ingredient carvacrol as well as small, non-standard amounts of thymol and rosmarinic acid. Studies have shown that carvacrol has an antimicrobial effect with a wide range of uses. The best results were obtained with the so-called gram-positive bacterial species such as e.g. Streptococcus and Staphylococcus. Carvacrol destabilizes the cell wall of the bacterium. ATP and other substances contained in the cytoplasm of the bacterium leak out as a result. The loss of ATP eventually destroys the bacterium. (Carvacrol and its derivatives antibacterial agents, Phytochem. Rev. 01/2018)
Oregano Oil by Allergy Research Group contains 100 mg of oregano oil per capsule.
Hint: Food supplements are not intended to be a substitute for a balanced and varied diet.
