Shot-O-B12® enthält Vitamin B12 als Methylcobalamin in Lutschtabletten mit Waldbeerengeschmack. Methylcobalamin ist eine biologisch aktive Form von Vitamin B12, die der Körper für sogenannte Methylierungsprozesse und die Regulation der Glutathionsynthese benötigt. Diese bioaktive Form ist relativ instabil und überlebt den Verdauungsprozess nicht. Es muss daher mit Hilfe von Lutschtabletten über die Mundschleimhaut aufgenommen werden.
